Online Privacy Statement

Breakthrough Urban Ministries (Breakthrough) is committed to respecting your online privacy and security. We have structured the Breakthrough website to permit visitors to generally use the website without identifying themselves or providing us with any personal information. However, visitors to our website who choose to make an online donation or obtain personalized content about various Breakthrough programs will be required to register and provide Breakthrough with certain personally identifying information. If and when you choose to register with Breakthrough and/or provide us with personally identifying information, Breakthrough will use that information only to support and further your relationship with Breakthrough.

Non-personal Information
Our web servers record certain logfile (non-personally identifying) information about each visitor to our website. The logfile information collected may include the type of browser you are using, the type of operating system you are using, the domain name of your Internet service provider, aggregate data about the number of visits to the site and/or pages visited. We use this information to help diagnose problems with our servers, to administer our website more effectively and to determine the behavior of visitors to our site. Breakthrough shall own all such logfile information and maintain copies of this information as part of its business records. Breakthrough may share such logfile information with third parties.

Certain visitors to our website may choose to register with us or make an online donation. Those who do so will be required to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. Breakthrough has implemented security procedures to help protect against the risk of theft, loss, misuse and alteration of any information under Breakthrough’s control. Breakthrough protects your online donation information through use of Secure Sockets Layer technology (“SSL”). SSL encrypts your online donation information to avoid the decoding of that information by anyone other than Breakthrough. However, such security measures may not prevent all theft, loss, misuse or alteration of information on the website, and Breakthrough is not responsible for any damages or liabilities related to any such security failures.
